TESTIMONIES

I have travelled here from Le Puy with five companions, we have prayed and sung and laughed together. A happy arrival and a friendly welcome. God bless the people of Santiago who continue this great tradition.

I have done it. 800 kms. I am here in Santiago de Compostela. A wonderful life experience for me meeting people, sharing, caring. The country side was absolutely stunning at times painful but always interesting. I have seen the Old Spain, have witness to the new with its liveliness and keenness to do new things and be Spanish. My young Spanish friends will always be with me in my heart and mind as those of other nationalities that I shared moments in time with on my “camino”

Many are called to walk the Camino. Why? I asked many on my own way, on the Camino. Many walked, like me, to express gratitude, for having lived through a hard time, or just gratitude for their lives, their blessings.

Many walked to know themselves, to see more clearly who they were like me. I think many walked for atonement but with a different meaning than the accepted one of making us for one’s sins. To me, the word is, at-ONE-ment, to be one, in harmony and resonance with God, oneself, and the earth. This to be in connection, in harmony with all life and one’s right path. What better place to receive this clarity than the Camino? Thank you

I felt the call to say a Novena to St. James, but could not find one; instead the invitation to walk 9 days to Santiago instead came as an inspiration, to be completed over the great feast of Easter. I thank God and St. James for the many graces we have received on this Camino.

The force and the weight of all the faithful and their anxieties can be felt in the cathedral. A dream accomplished. Thank you for the life changing opportunity.
